Brian Mochado

My name is Bryan Machado, and just so there’s no confusion I’ll uncover the mystery right away… yes it's true, I have a double. His name is Elvis Machado and he’s my twin brother, we have always been accomplices in everything we do. But you’ll meet Elvis a bit later and he’ll also be posting on our blog.

Elvis and I were born in the bustling metropolitan of Toronto, Canada. But thanks to our parents who wanted to return to their roots, we’ve lived most of our lives in the beautiful and relaxed Algarve, Portugal. About 24 years ago my father found his greatest love (second to our mom of course), the “Strawberry” and our family has been involved in this love affair with strawberries since.

A little about our dad, Armando Machado – He’s got a unique thirst for life, plus a great sense of humor and adventure. In his 20’s he restored a vintage Vespa and turned it brand new and Lemon Yellow. In his 30’s, he had moved up to 4 wheels, but this time it was a Bright Orange VW bug … so when he fell in love with Strawberry we weren’t shocked, but happy it was something we could finally eat!

My brother and I have grown with the family business since we were tots, so there isn’t much about strawberries we haven’t experienced. What we find most interesting his how curious people are about what we do. So we decided to write a blog for our family, friends and customers. We’re pretty sure this is the first blog solely dedicated to fine strawberries. Not only are we excited to share our premium strawberries with berry lovers, but now we can bring you directly into the Nursery, showing you first hand what it takes to grow your favorite berry….a DaddyBerry!
